Remotely Connecting to the UVM Network via VPN

Please follow the instructions below to connect to VPN when working off campus. For more comprehensive information for working and connecting remotely, please see the UVM Enterprise Services website

  1. Open Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client - this should already be on any UVM configured computer.
  2. Put sslvpn2.uvm.edu/full in the connection box if it's not already there and click connect.  A dialog box will pop up with three fields.
  3. Put your NetID in the first box.
  4. Put your 2-factor method in the second box (type "sms" if you use the DUO app or enter a code directly if you use pregenerated codes.
  5. Finally put your UVM NetID password in the third box and click OK.
  6. Once you receive a notice that says Authorized Users Only and makes you agree then you have successfully connected!  If the login box pops back up that means either your 2-factor code or password was not entered properly.
  7. You can now proceed to accees S: Drive, Library Journals, WebXtender, etc as you would while physically connected to the UVM network.

Please note this configuration works for almost everyone but if you have special network circumstances on your home network there may be different settings - in that case please contact RSENR IT. One example of a special configuration would be if you have a network printer at home you need to use while also connected to UVM VPN.
