Senior Lecturer

Dr. Ballard received his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009. He then went on to earn his masters and PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Duke University, where he did research on the nonlinear dynamics of ocean buoys with energy harvesting applications. After two years doing postdoctoral research at the University of Notre Dame on origami-inspired shelters, he began teaching at the University of Vermont in 2015.
