Orange barA UVM degree leads to all kinds of success. We'll help you get there.

Scholarships are considered “gift aid” and do not need to be repaid. Below, you will find information about scholarships awarded by both UVM and outside sources.

Undergraduate Students

The University of Vermont is committed to helping students lower their cost of attendance through merit-based (non-need based aid) scholarships.

Prospective Undergraduate Students

UVM awards scholarships based on a variety of factors, including academic achievement, leadership, geographic location, and field of study. Many of these scholarships have the opportunity to be renewed (based on eligibility) for each of your academic years.

Please note: UVM also awards need-based "gift aid" to students who qualify based on financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Gift aid is aid that does not need to be repaid. We encourage students to complete the FAFSA to be considered for all possible sources of aid.

If you are a prospective, first-time, undergraduate student, you are automatically considered for certain scholarships when applying for admission. Other scholarships for prospective students require a separate application.

Transfer Students

Welcome, transfer students! We are dedicated to working with you. When you apply to UVM, you are automatically considered for certain scholarships which reflect our commitment to access and affordability. Other scholarships for transfer students require a separate application.

Current/Returning Undergraduate Students

If you are a current and/or returning student, you have the opportunity to apply for a variety of scholarships.
