The University of Vermont's Environmental Sciences major combines a natural science-based core curriculum with hands-on experience needed to identify, analyze, and solve environmental problems. Instructors are active environmental research scientists. Classroom encounters with environmental scientists who are leaders in their field are heightened by hands-on field and service-learning opportunities.
In the Rubenstein School, emphasis on such cutting-edge areas as ecological design, geospatial technologies, restoration of damaged ecosystems, and management of resilient ecosystems equips Environmental Sciences graduates with the latest tools and skills to steward our forests, waters, and landscapes.
