2019 "Discovery" dates have not been announced, but we would love to have you visit anytime. Please check out our calendar for a list of campus events.

About Discovering UVM

Strong Voices, Open Minds: Discovering UVM is geared toward high school seniors from underrepresented groups, welcomes students from as close as Vermont to as far away as California. Let us assist you with your college search — explore academic and extracurricular offerings at UVM. Spend two days in our residence halls with a UVM student host, meet with our faculty and staff in your area of academic interest, and learn about the college application process. Discovering UVM participants will receive free room and board for the program. Applicants may apply for a travel grant (PDF) to help with the cost of traveling to UVM. Join us!

Who should apply to Discovering UVM?

Please be advised that we are looking for students with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of B (3.0) or better. Applicants should be on track to have completed the following by graduation:

  • 4 years of English
  • 3 years of math (including algebra 1, geometry and algebra 2 or the equivalent)
  • 3 years of a natural or physical science (including a laboratory science)
  • 3 years of social science
  • 2 years of the same foreign language
