REGISTERING for TREK

COVID-19 UPDATE - As we continue to plan ahead for what our Service, Wilderness, and Identity-specific TREK programs will look like in August and beyond – we’re realizing much is still unclear as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We don’t want to give you erroneous information or promote a program that might look a little different in the fall – so as things continue to change, we’ve decided to postpone our opening of TREK registration until we have a clearer idea of our program moving forward.

While the details of our program might change in the coming months, this is certain: now more than ever, the TREK program is committed to providing you amazing experiences and connecting you to UVM’s community as well as wilderness and service opportunities, from the moment you step foot on our campus and throughout your UVM career.

In the meantime please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you might have that will help you navigate this summer’s transition to college. Our team is ready and waiting to help you explore and navigate your new life at UVM. We’re just an E-mail, Facebook message, or Instagram DM away.

WHAT IS THE COST?

The cost of participating in TREK varies according to the type of trip you choose. Additional program costs reflect the demand for specialized group equipment. More expensive options are in no way proportional to the amount of fun and experiential value that all TREK programs offer! Fees include all food, lodging, transportation, group gear usage, watercraft rental (where applicable), instruction, a t-shirt, and administrative costs.  Payment is expected at the time of registration via cash or credit card.  Students applying for financial support must submit a deposit of at least $100.

Other Early Experiences

TREK isn't the only program offering early community building experiences prior to the start of the semester.  Students placed in the Wellness Environment also have the option of participating in WEventure - a 3-day pre-semester experience that explores UVM, Vermont, and the local Burlington community.
