New Student Programs welcomes and supports first-year and transfer students at UVM

New Student Programs encompasses orientation as well as first year experience programs and resources, including first year and transfer orientations, signature opening weekend events, coordinated initiatives such as Growth Mindset and Spring Start, and more.

At Orientation new students learn about life on campus, meet with academic advisors, and make friends before starting their first semester. Orientation is mandatory for incoming first-year students and strongly encouraged for transfer students.

Welcome, Winter Explorers!

This winter, you’ll select your courses and get to know your roommate, classmates, and academic team - making lasting connections with your new home and beginning your UVM journey.

It’s sure to be an epic adventure, which is why preparation is key. If you need an extra helping hand along the way, New Student Programs will be your go-to for support. We’ll help you work through that checklist and make sure you feel ready (and excited) for a successful first semester at UVM.

No doubt that these are unique times, and we’re closely monitoring the public health concerns surrounding the coronavirus. Be sure to check your UVM-provided email regularly to ensure you are getting the most recent updates, reminders, tips, invitations and more throughout the summer.
