In light of the challenges caused by COVID-19 (coronavirus), effective immediately and until further notice, the University is suspending all non-essential staff recruitment and hires.
If you have a staff recruitment need that you believe is essential, you should seek approval from your dean or vice president. Your request should clearly lay out why the hire is essential. The request should address the following issues:
- Whether the position is essential to business continuity at this time and why.
- Whether the position provides an essential function related to the University’s response to COVID-19 and why.
- Whether the position is essential to the health, wellbeing, and public safety of faculty, staff, and students and why.
- Whether there are other staff to whom the essential responsibilities could be transferred for some period of time.
Staff recruitment requires approval by your dean or vice president and then must be forwarded to the president for final approval.
I appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Vice President for the Division of Human Resources, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs
