SHEFFIELD, Farmhouse and 5 acres of land for rent/lease for growing season

Location: Sheffield, Caledonia County

Tenure Arrangements Offered:
Lease with option to buy
Long term lease (5+ years)
Partnership with farmer seeking land
Partnership with eventual sale
Short term lease (1-5 years)
Other: We are looking for a family or a small group of farmers who would like to lease our land and furnished farmhouse for the growing season. Sometime around Late April or Early May through Late September early October. Great opportunity for a farmer who is just starting out and doesn't want to invest a lot of money right away in property. It would also be great for those that want to farm in Vermont in the summer and might wish to spend winters elsewhere. Travel the world perhaps? We would be like to have a more long term arrangement, say at least three summer seasons, but are open to other ideas.

Acreage:
TOTAL: 6
Wooded: 0
Open: 6
Tillable: 5

Quality of Land:
The farm was a certified organic farm since 1997, and was once called Back Acres Farm. The former owners grew mixed vegetables with a focus on greenhouse tomatoes, salad mix and seed crops. It operated till 2007 when I purchased the property. Since then the fields have seen very limited use, and get brush hogged once a year. The two main fields have good drainage and no wetness issues that I am aware of.

Farm Infrastructure:
Farm Buildings: There is a 24 X 20 Barn. Two larger greenhouses 48ft X 25ft. Two smaller greenhouses as well. All greenhouses need plastic.
Housing: 1500 sq foot farmhouse with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, kitchen, living room, mud room, and laundry room/pantry
Water Resources: Drilled artesian well 360 feet with great flow.
Equipment: Two Tractors which are not currently working, but if you can fix them, you can use them.

We are looking for a family or a small group of farmers who would like to lease our land and furnished farmhouse for the growing season.
