- Evaluation and management of patients with hematologic malignancies including leukemia and its complications.These include clinical research for treatment options and supportive care for patients with leukemia, lymphomas and other hematologic malignancies. Dr. Lamba also participates in numerous national cooperative group trials. His research has opened doors to innovative therapies for patients with blood-related cancers through his involvement in the design and conduct of Phase I, II and III clinical trials. His current projects include a study to compare complete remission rates of high dose cytarabine - mitoxantrone and hyper CVAD in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and burtkitt’s lymphoma. He has also just finished working on a randomized double blind trial of chlorhexidine bathing to reduce health care associated infections among ncology patients with Dr. M Montecalvo at NYMC.
- The care of patients with hematologic malignancies with an emphasis on tailoring treatments for an individual patient (personalized medicine) with novel agents when appropriate.
- Evaluation and management of non-malignant disorders of red cells, white cells, and platelets.
