Dr. Lakoski is a board-certified cardiologist who received her M.D. at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She obtained her specialty training in Cardiology and holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Research at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Lakoski is the Director of Cardiovascular Prevention for Cancer Patients at the Vermont Cancer Center and the Assistant Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at the University of Vermont. Her clinical practice is focused on treatments for cardiovascular toxicities related to cancer care (Cardio-Oncology) as well as the management of venous and arterial thromboembolism within the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Program. As a research focus, Dr. Lakoski studies the role of exercise training to promote cardiovascular health in cancer and investigates the biological mechanisms by which exercise confers survival benefits.
