“Mipso has discovered that rare chemistry of four people coming together and uncorking bottled lightning with every tour and trip to the studio.” --- Cincinnati City Beat

This was the stand-out bluegrass band at 2019’s Folk Alliance Conference in Montreal (this is saying something because there are a LOT of bluegrass bands at Folk Alliance). Mipso (Jacob Sharp, mandolin; Wood Robinson, bass; Joseph Terrell, guitar; and Libby Rodenbough, fiddle) are from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. All members of the quartet are first-rate instrumentalists and great singers, and their collective songwriting is stunning. Recently recognized by Rolling Stone as “an artist you need to know,” Mipso’s sound is beautiful. Their lush harmonies, heart-felt lyrics, and innovative playing get in your head and don’t let go. And though they are young, they have just released their fifth album, entitled Edges Run --- it is a knock-out.
