Cellist Inbal Segev is known for her rich tone and fluid technique. She performs a vast range of music, covering repertoire that includes all of the standard concerti and solo works for cello, as well as new pieces and rarely performed gems. Her many honors include the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship and top prizes at the Pablo Casals, Paulo, and Washington International Competitions. Pianist Alon Goldstein is admired for his musical intelligence, dynamic personality, artistic vision, and innovative programming, all of which have made him a favorite with audiences and critics alike. In addition to his extensive performance career, he is a passionate advocate for music education and has taught multiple extended educational residencies across the U.S.. The two musicians join forces for a program titled “Friends and Mentors,” in which they explore the relationships between three Romantic composers and the ways in which they influenced each other. They will perform Fantasiestücke, Op. 73, and Kinderszenen, Op. 15, by Schumann; Cello Sonata No. 2 in F Major, Op. 99, and Sechs Lieder (transcribed for cello and piano) by Brahms; and Rondo in G minor, Op. 94, for cello and piano by Dvořák.
