Hold on to your hats! Breabach is a powerhouse Scottish band that combines the strong Highlands and Islands roots tradition with a grittier Glasgow sound. Breabach has collaborated with BAFTA award-winning animator Cat Bruce on the film Dùsgadh; indigenous Australasian artists Moana and the Tribe and Black Arm Band; Le Vent du Nord; video game composer Big Giant Circles; and were artists-in-residence at 2019’s Celtic Colours festival with Cape Breton band Beolach. They have racked up an impressive array of accolades including five Scots Trad Music Awards, nominations as ‘Best Group’ in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, and ‘European Album of the Year’ in The Songlines Music Awards. And no, your eyes do not deceive you – the band has not just one, but TWO, bagpipers!
