\"Microsoft<\/a>UVM subscribes to a program that provides Microsoft 365 A3 licenses at no charge to active<\/em> UVM faculty, students, and staff<\/strong>. This A3 license grants access to Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Office desktop and mobile apps and 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage. You can use your UVM NetID to install and activate Office apps on up to 5 desktops\/laptops, 5 tablets, and 5 mobile devices. These devices can be UVM-owned or personal devices, and the apps can be used for UVM-related or personal work.<\/p>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\tMicrosoft 365 A3 licensing is for active faculty, students, and staff only<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

Alumni, Retirees, Emeriti Faculty, Non-Salaried Employees, Temporary Employees, and Affiliated Organization Employees DO NOT<\/strong> qualify for Microsoft 365 A3 licensing. However, some of these groups are eligible for A1<\/strong> licenses. The A1 licenses comes with less OneDrive storage, does not allow installation of Office on your devices, but does allow access to the online versions of the apps on the Microsoft 365 apps and services homepage<\/a>. Installation<\/h2>\n

Please use the appropriate guide below to install Office on your device. On UVM-owned Windows, macOS, and iOS devices, the Office apps should already be installed; check your Start Menu, Applications folder, or app list.<\/p>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\tDuo multi-factor authentication required<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\tFor most users, installing accessing the online portal and activating the Office apps requires Duo, so make sure you set that up first. We recommend using the Duo mobile app, which you can set up using instructions found in the Duo Multi-Factor Authentication<\/a> article. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n \t\t

  1. Navigate to go.uvm.edu\/getoffice<\/a> and log in.\n
    \n \t\t\tIs it a Microsoft or UVM sign-in prompt?<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

    \n \t\t\t\t\tIf you see a Microsoft sign-in page, you’ll want to enter your UVM email address in the format of NetID@uvm.edu<\/strong>. This should bring you to UVM’s Single Sign-On page, where you can log in with just your NetID<\/strong> and password. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

    \n \t\t<\/li>\n

  2. From the My account<\/strong> tab, click the Install Office<\/strong> button.\"My<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. You may have to choose an install location and click Save<\/strong>. Then the installer will begin downloading to your computer. When the download is complete, locate and launch the downloaded file.
    \n    \"Office<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. The installer should download and install everything it needs without more input. When it finishes, the window should tell you “You’re all set!” and have a button to Close<\/strong> the window, which you can click. \"Message<\/a><\/li>\n
  5. After opening the apps and signing in with your NetID to activate the license, you may be asked to “Sign in to all apps and websites on this device”. Click No, this app only<\/strong>.

    \n \t\t\tDo Not Click Yes<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

    \n \t\t\t\t\tStep 5<\/em> above, if it comes up, is very important. Clicking Yes from a personal device will enroll that device in UVM’s management system which could have unintended consequences including data loss. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

    4. The the installer will begin downloading to your computer. When the download is complete, locate and launch the downloaded file.\"Safari<\/a><\/li>\n
    5. Continue through the installer’s prompts, clicking Agree<\/strong> and typing in your computer password when required. When it gets to the Installation step, it should download anything else it needs and install everything. When finished, it should tell you “The installation was successful.” \"Mac<\/a><\/li>\n
    6. Your Microsoft 365 license should have successfully activated all Office apps installed on your Mac.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      This guide will show steps for installing Microsoft Excel. These steps can be repeated to install other Microsoft 365 apps on your iOS devices.<\/p>\n

      1. Install\u00a0Microsoft Excel<\/strong> from the Apple AppStore.
        \n        \"Get<\/a><\/li>\n
      2. Once installed, open the\u00a0Excel<\/strong> app.
        \n        \"Excel<\/a><\/li>\n
      3. Enter your email address in the following NetID@uvm.edu<\/strong> format.
        \n        \"Next<\/a><\/li>\n
      4. You’ll be redirected to the UVM WebAuth page. Enter your UVM NetID and password to authenticate.

      5. That’s it!\u00a0The iOS\u00a0Excel<\/strong> app should have successfully activated. Repeat the above steps to all other Office apps you wish to install (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        This guide will show steps for installing Microsoft Excel. These steps can be repeated to install other Microsoft 365 apps on your Android devices.<\/p>\n

        1. Install\u00a0Microsoft Excel<\/strong> from the GooglePlay store.
          \n          \"Install<\/a><\/li>\n
        2. Once installed, open the\u00a0Excel\u00a0<\/strong>app.
          \n          \"Excel<\/a><\/li>\n
        3. You’ll be asked to\u00a0Allow Excel<\/strong>\u00a0access\u00a0<\/strong>to photos, media, and files on your device. If editing files stored on your device, you’ll want to select\u00a0ALLOW

        4. You’ll also be asked to allow\u00a0Excel<\/strong> access to your contacts. Choose whichever option fits your Excel needs.
