UVM faculty and staff can create sandbox spaces in Brightspace. Sandbox spaces are not teaching spaces, <\/strong>and will never contain student enrollments.<\/strong> They are only to be used for development and testing.<\/p>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\tLooking to create a space in which you can provide trainings and similar activities for participants to enroll in?\u00a0 This article describes the process for requesting access to create non-credit course spaces in Brightspace<\/a>. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

Creating your first sandbox space requires enrolling an a special course and completing an acknowledgement of UVM Policies. After this is done, you can create sandboxes using a link in that same course.<\/p>\n

Complete the use agreement<\/h3>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\tNote<\/strong>: You should only need to do this step (enrollment and agreement\/quiz) once!\u00a0 If you’ve previously created a sandbox space and are looking to create more, you’ve already completed this part\u2014 skip to part two of this article below, titled “Create a Sandbox Course”. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

Before creating sandbox spaces, you’ll need to enroll in the “Sandbox Self-Service Creation” course space in Brightspace. To enroll in this space, log into Brightspace and use this link to enroll directly<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, the course can be found by clicking into the Discover<\/strong> tool (which is linked on the green navigation Bar on the Brightspace main landing page). Enter the search term “Sandbox creation” and then click on the course to enroll yourself in it.<\/p>\n

Once you have enrolled in the course, complete the Policies & Use Agreement quiz, which can be accessed using this link<\/a> or by going to Content & Activities from the course menu. The quiz is also linked from the “Welcome” message\/announcement on the course landing page.<\/p>\n

Create a Sandbox Course<\/h3>\n

Once you have enrolled in the sandbox creation course and completed the use agreement (see above), you can follow the below steps to create sandboxes:<\/p>\n

  1. Go to the Self-Service Sandbox Creation course<\/strong>, by logging into Brightspace and clicking this link<\/a>. Alternatively, you can find the course in your My Courses widget or by searching for “Sandbox Creation” using the “waffle” button at the top of the page.<\/li>\n
  2. Click the Content & Activities<\/strong> link on the green navigation bar.<\/li>\n
  3. Click Create a Sandbox<\/strong> from the left-hand navigation.<\/li>\n
  4. Click Launch Sandbox Course Maker<\/strong>. <\/li>\n
  5. Click the blue Create Course<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You should see a green acknowledgement with a link to your new sandbox space.\u00a0 You’ll also be able to find this course in your My Courses area on the Brightspace home page (in the Sandbox tab), as well as in the “Waffle” tool at the top of the page.<\/p>\n
