Instructors will see the small down-arrow next to &#8220;Announcements&#8221; and they can click there to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make a new announcement<\/li>\n<li>Go to the Announcements tool (the management page where you can delete, edit, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Reorder announcements<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 25px;\">Create an Announcement<\/h2>\n<p>To create an announcement,<\/p>\n<p>Click the dropdown arrow next to <strong>Announcements<\/strong> on your course home page and select <strong>New<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Enter the announcement title in the <strong>Headline<\/strong> field.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the announcement text in the <strong>Content<\/strong> field. NOTE: You can use the Brightspace editor to add images, videos, and other content to your announcement.<\/li>\n<li>To send a copy of the announcement to your Classlist, check the <strong>Send email copy<\/strong> box.<\/li>\n<li>When you are ready to publish your announcement, click <strong>Publish.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-scaled.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-32842\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-236x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"236\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-236x300.png 236w, https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-805x1024.png 805w, https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-768x977.png 768w, https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-39x50.png 39w, https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-1207x1536.png 1207w, https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-1610x2048.png 1610w, https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-47x60.png 47w, https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-79x100.png 79w, https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Announce-create-scaled.png 2012w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 236px) 100vw, 236px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 25px;\">Managing Announcements<\/h2>\n<p>To edit them or add new announcements, go to <strong>Course Admin<\/strong> in the Course Navigation Bar, and click \u201cAnnouncements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Click the drop-down menu to the right of the announcement on the list to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Delete announcements<\/li>\n<li>Change the dates of visibility<\/li>\n<li>Edit any of their contents, including text, images, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By checking the box next to an individual announcement(s) and choosing More Actions, you have other options, such as reordering.<\/p>\n<p>If you have an initial \u201cwelcome\u201d announcement, you can click the dropdown menu next to it and select \u201cEdit.\u201d Then <em>uncheck<\/em> the \u201cAlways Show start date\u201d checkbox. This will allow you to re-use this announcement each semester without confusing students by displaying an old date.<\/p>\n<h2>Hide an Announcement<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to Course Admin in the green nav bar and select Announcements.<\/li>\n<li>Once there, go the Announcement you want to hide, and click the down arrow next to it.
