While most CEMS software is available to all CEMS students, Abaqus, Ansys, COMSOL, and LabView have licensing agreements restricting access to specific courses, research purposes, or based on other criteria.<\/p>\n

If you’re a student in a course that requires specialized CEMS software, and you receive a licensing error when attempting to launch one of these applications on Virtual Votey<\/a>, or you cannot see the software within AppsAnywhere<\/a>, contact your instructor or academic research advisor <\/strong>and ask them to submit a CEMS Software Access Request<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\t

\n \t\t\tCEMS Software Access Requests can be submitted by instructors or academic research advisors<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n \t\t\t\t\tPlease allow 24 business hours<\/strong> for Software Access Requests to be processed \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

  1. Visit the CEMS Software Access Requests page<\/a> and sign in with your NetID and password.<\/li>\n
  2. Under Application<\/strong>, select the application to which you’d like to grant access.<\/li>\n
  3. Under\u00a0Usage Type<\/strong>, identify the purpose for this software request.\n
    \n \t\t\tBeware of License Restrictions<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

    \n \t\t\t\t\tAbaqus and COMSOL cannot be used for any research and are restricted to educational\/classroom purposes only.
    \nAbaqus, Ansys, COMSOL and LabView cannot be used for any revenue-generating purpose. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

  4. Under\u00a0Request for & Reason for Request<\/strong>, select\u00a0Individual<\/em><\/strong> if this access is required for a single person or Class<\/strong><\/em> if you would like access to be granted for an entire class.\n

    1. If you select\u00a0Individual<\/strong>, enter in the NetID for whom access is being requested.\n
      \n \t\t\tSeeking access for multiple users?<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

      \n \t\t\t\t\tPlease make an individual request for each NetID. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

    2. If you select\u00a0Class<\/strong>, choose the appropriate class from the dropdown. This list is populated based on your existing Banner assignments.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    3. In the\u00a0Reason for request\u00a0<\/strong>textbox, enter details about the request (Ex. \u201cCourse required software,\u201d \u201cTA,\u201d \u201cIndependent study,\u201d etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
