While the default meeting options should work for most meetings, meeting organizers may need to adjust some of these settings to fit their needs on a meeting-by-meeting bases.<\/p>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\tOnly meeting organizers can change meeting options<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

Editing Meeting Options<\/h2>\n \t\t

Open Meeting Options from Microsoft Outlook<\/h3><\/div>\r\n \t\t\t

  1. In the calendar section of Microsoft Outlook, locate and open your Teams Meeting.

  2. In the meeting description field, scroll down to find the Microsoft Teams<\/strong> section and the Meeting options<\/strong> link.

  3. Right<\/em>-click Meeting options<\/strong>, and select Open Link<\/strong>.

  4. Edit your Meeting Options as desired and click Save<\/strong>. You can review explanations of these options at the bottom of this article.

  5. After a few moments, you will see Save <\/strong>button greyed out. You can now safely close this page.\n
    \n \t\t\tYou do not need to Send a meeting update after changing meeting options<\/span>\n \t\t<\/div>\n

    Open Meeting Options from Teams Before Meeting<\/h3><\/div>\r\n \t\t\t

    1. In the\u00a0Calendar<\/strong> section of Teams, locate and click your Teams Meeting, and select Edit<\/strong>.

    2. Click <\/i> Options<\/strong>.

      \n \t\t\t\t\tIf you don’t see the Options button your meeting may have been created outside of Teams. To make Meeting options appear, add a new required attendee<\/strong>, and click Send Update<\/strong>. Re-open the meeting to see the “Meeting Options”. Or, open the meeting from Outlook instead. It’s also possible you have an older version of Teams. Make sure the Teams app is up to date<\/a>. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

      \n \t\t\t\t\tThis option is not available for meetings hosted in a Team channel, as the ability to participate in meeting chat is determined by access to that channel. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

      1. During your Teams meeting, click the Controls<\/strong> menu, and select View more options<\/strong>.

        The meeting organizer can use this option to decide who gets into their meetings directly, and who should wait for someone to let them in.<\/p>\n

        Who can bypass the lobby?<\/p>\n<\/th>\n

        Everyone<\/td>\nAnyone who has access to the meeting link gets into the meeting directly, including people who call in.<\/td>\nYou don\u2019t want anyone to wait in the lobby. You want everyone to be able to join the meeting without specific approval.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

        When this setting is enabled, people using their phone to dial into your meeting will join the meeting without having to wait for someone to admit them.

        Meeting organizers should consider disabling this option for meetings with an especially large number of attendees.\"Allow<\/a><\/p>\n

        With this option disabled, participants should raise their hand<\/strong> to request to speak. From the participants icon on the toolbar, Organizers can then right-click these participants, and select the option to Allow mic<\/strong>.
        \n        \"Attendee<\/a><\/p>\n

        After an attendee has finished speaking, organizers will need to right-click the participant again, and select the option to\u00a0Disable mic<\/strong>.\"Attendee<\/a><\/p>\n

        Disabling this option requires more micromanagement of the attendees, but may be necessary in larger meetings to reduce random noise and distractions.<\/p>\n

        \n \t\t\tNon-Presenters Only<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

        \n \t\t\t\t\tIf someone has been assigned the role of presenter using the “Who can present” setting, the “Allow mic for attendees” setting will have no effect on their ability to unmute their mic. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

        \n \t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n \t\t

        Allow meeting chat<\/h3><\/div>\r\n \t\t\t

        \n \t\t\tThis option won't appear in Channel Meetings<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

        \n \t\t\t\t\tChat in team’s channel meetings is only available to members of that team. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

        \n \t\t<\/p>\n

        Meeting organizers can choose On<\/strong> to enable the meeting chat, Off<\/strong> to disable the meeting chat, or In-meeting only<\/strong> to limit the use of the chat to only the duration of the meeting.<\/p>\n

        The meeting organizer can use this option to determine whether people can use reactions such as “Applause” and “Surprised” during the meeting.<\/p>\n

        Allow CART Captions<\/h3><\/div>\r\n \t\t\t

        The Meeting Organizer can toggle on Provide CART Captions<\/strong> for the meeting. This will create a shareable link for an individual providing captioning. Toggling on Generate new URL<\/strong> before clicking Apply<\/strong> will change the provided link.<\/p>\n
