\"\"<\/a>With the recent shift to working remotely, you may be wondering how you can securely scan, sign, and share documents with colleagues without the use of your department’s office scanner\/printer.<\/p>\n

The OneDrive mobile app allows you to scan documents into PDFs and upload them directly to your University of Vermont OneDrive<\/a><\/strong> account. From there, you can share the documents with other affiliates. For more information and a video walk through of the scanning feature within the OneDrive app please see this documentation<\/a> from Microsoft.<\/p>\n

It is important to use the method outlined below when scanning and sharing documents.<\/p>\n

The OneDrive app meets the requirements of our data security policy<\/strong>, taking a picture of a document using your phones built in camera app does not.<\/p>\n

  • Do not use OneDrive to store or share HIPAA data.<\/li>\n
  • Do not download and save files from your OneDrive account locally on your device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In the OneDrive app, tap\u00a0Scan<\/b>\u00a0\"Icon\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. Select\u00a0Document<\/b>\u00a0and tap the white circle icon to scan the item.\"Scan\n

      \r\n \t\t\t\t\tTip:<\/b> Use the option for multi-page scanning, allowing you to combine multiple scans into a single PDF. To utilize that option, tap Add<\/b>, then scan your next document. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

      To sign or draw on the image, select the\u00a0Pen<\/b>\u00a0icon and choose a color. (If you don’t like the image, tap the left arrow icon in the upper left to delete the scan and try again.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. Once you’re done editing your item, tap\u00a0Done<\/b>\u00a0(or the checkmark on Android devices), enter a file name, then tap\u00a0Save<\/b>\u00a0(or the checkmark on Android devices).<\/li>\n
