These instructions explain how to organize your videos into Stream Channels and share with a particular Team.
Meeting recordings are automatically placed into Teams Channel Posts (when meetings are scheduled in a Team Channel) or Chat (when meetings are scheduled via the Teams Calendar). But it can be difficult to find old videos (and requires a lot of scrolling). Following these steps, you’ll organize a set of your recordings under one Tab in one of your MS Teams, allowing your audience to easily find all videos. This works particularly well for class recordings.
Create a Channel in MS Stream
- Navigate to MS Stream by going to https://stream.microsoft.com and Sign In using your UVM email address in the form of NetID@uvm.edu. This will take you to the UVM authentication page to login with your NetID and password.
- Once signed in, go to My Content > Channels.
- Click the icon to “Create a New Channel.”
- Name the Channel (for a class, you might want to choose Course & Semester).
- Give a more detailed description of the Channel.
- Leave the Channel access as a Group Channel.
- Under “select group,” start typing the name of your Team (exactly as it appears in MS Teams) that you want to have access to the videos.
- Choose the correct Team from the search results.
- Add an image if desired.
- Click Create.
Add an MS Stream Channel to MS Teams
- Add a tab to the General (or other chosen) Channel of your Team in MS Teams by clicking the + at the top of the page.
- Click on or search for Stream.
- Search for the MS Stream Channel name and hit enter.
- Select the desired MS Stream Channel from the search results.
- Give the tab a short name (such as “Class Videos”).
- Choose whether or not to post about the tab.
- Click save.
