Unlike computers and smart phones – most game, media, and smart home devices are not designed to be used on WPA2-Enterprise networks, a common WiFi network standard used by UVM and most other universities. Such devices may not be able to connect to the UVM wireless network. Fortunately, many game and media devices are able to connect to the wired network using an Ethernet cable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

**\u00a0<\/strong>AirPlay with an Apple\u00a0 TV will not work unless the connecting device is also connected to the wired network. Password protection is recommended as anyone in the same area of the wired network will be able to see the device.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Not allowed on campus<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The following devices are prohibited from use on campus according to UVM’s Computer, Communication, and Network Technology Acceptable Use Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n
