When creating a new event in Outlook or\u00a0Outlook Online<\/a>, you will see a Show As\u00a0<\/strong>setting that can be set to Free, Working Elsewhere, Tentative, Busy, or Away.\u00a0Your selection here is what others will see as your status when viewing this event on your\u00a0schedule.<\/p>\n

Status Meanings<\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Free<\/em>\n
      \n
    • Indicates you are available for new appointment requests.<\/li>\n
    • Tasks during which other appointments can be made should be set as Free.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Working Elsewhere<\/em>\n
          \n
        • Currently out of office, but working.<\/li>\n
        • Indicates you are not available for appointments in your normal location, but you may still be able to be contacted for work purposes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Tentative<\/em>\n
              \n
            • This setting is used to indicate this is an appointment that has not yet been confirmed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                \n
              • Busy<\/em>\n
                  \n
                • Indicates you are unavailable during this time and\u00a0will not be able to accept new appointments.<\/li>\n
                • Private events will always display as Busy to others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  • Away<\/em>\n
                      \n
                    • Indicates you are unavailable during this time;\u00a0Away from work entirely.<\/li>\n
