\r\n \t\t\t\t\tThis guide is applicable to Microsoft Outlook users who have the Larner College of Medicine email account (username<\/em>@med.<\/strong>uvm.edu) configured as their primary MS Outlook Profile.<\/p>\n

Those who primarily use their UVM email account will have the UVM address book automatically added to their account, and can ignore this guide.\u00a0 \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n

When Outlook is configured with a Larner College of Medicine account, the default address book is populated with the College of Medicine directory. People outside of LCOM will not be listed in this address book.<\/p>\n

If you often interact with UVM affiliates who are not also a part of LCOM, you can manually add the UVM directory as an address book with the following steps.<\/p>\n

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook, then click File<\/strong> in the top left corner
    \n\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Select the Account you wish to add the UVM Directory to, then click Account Settings…<\/strong>
    \n    \"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Select the Address Books<\/strong> tab, then click New<\/strong>.
    \n    \"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP)<\/strong>, then click Next<\/strong>.
    \n    \"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
  5. In the Server Name:<\/strong>\u00a0field, enter\u00a0ldap.uvm.edu<\/strong>. Check the This server requires me to login<\/strong>.\n
      \n
    1. Enter your User Name:<\/strong> in the following format: uid=yournetid<\/span>,ou=People,dc=uvm,dc=edu<\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. Enter your UVM NetID password in the Password<\/strong> field. Then click the More Settings <\/strong>button.
      \n      \"Screen<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    3. Verify the Display Name<\/strong> is set to\u00a0ldap.uvm.edu, <\/strong>the Port<\/strong> is 636, and Use Secure Sockets Layer<\/strong> is checked, then click the Search\u00a0<\/strong>tab.
      \n      \"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
    4. In the Search Base<\/strong> area, select the Custom<\/strong> option. Enter dc=uvm,dc=edu<\/strong> then click\u00a0OK<\/strong>.
      \n      \"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
    5. Completely close and reopen Microsoft Outlook. This step is\u00a0required<\/span><\/strong> to see the newly added address book.<\/li>\n
    6. Open the Outlook Address Book to verify that you have successfully added the UVM address book. Make sure More Columns<\/strong> is selected, then choose the ldap.uvm.edu<\/strong> address book from the Address Book<\/strong> dropdown menu.<\/li>\n

    8. Search for a UVM colleague. You should see that they appear in your search results.
