As an instructor or TA,\u00a0 use Video Note<\/strong> in content, announcements, discussions, feedback, and more to personalize and engage students.<\/p>\n

As a student, use Video Note<\/strong> in discussions, assignments, and written response quiz questions.<\/p>\n

An instructor can attach or embed a Video Note<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While attaching a Video Note<\/strong> is less clicks to create for the instructor, it is more clicks for the student and is not visible in Grades<\/strong> or Class Progress<\/strong>. Embedding through HTML Editor<\/strong> a Video Note<\/strong> is more clicks to create for the instructor, it is less clicks for the student and is visible in Grades <\/strong>or Class Progress.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\r\n \t\t\t\t\t\u00a0<\/span>You can use Video Note<\/strong> anywhere there is the\u00a0HTML Editor<\/b>\u2014announcements, feedback, etc. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

  1. In the HTML Editor (<\/b>See Brightspace \u2013 Using the HTML Editor<\/a>), <\/em>select<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Insert Stuff \"\"<\/a><\/span><\/b>

  2. Select Video Note\u00a0<\/span><\/b>from the Insert Stuff <\/strong>options.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Select <\/span>Record Webcam Video<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and then\u00a0<\/span>New Recording.\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Select Stop Recording<\/span><\/b>\u00a0when you are finished.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Select Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Type in a\u00a0<\/span>Title<\/span><\/b>, <\/span>Description,<\/span><\/b> select language, and Automatically generate captions<\/b>.<\/li>\n
  7. Select <\/span>Insert\u00a0<\/span><\/b>to insert the video in the topic.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Select Save<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If you want the same video in a different place, do this:<\/p>\n

    1. Go to the Content topic\/module or discussion topic\u2013anywhere there is the HTML Editor.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Select Insert Stuff<\/strong> and Search Video Note.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. Put in the title of the video and select Search.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    4. Select on the video once you have found it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Closed Caption<\/h2>\n

      Closed captioning makes videos more accessible to people who have difficulty listening to the spoken word like the deaf, ESL students, people in a noisy room, commuters on a bus\u2026<\/p>\n

      Although when you are creating your Video Note<\/strong> you may have Automatically generated captions,<\/b> they will need to be edited.<\/p>\n

      2. Select Media Library.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      3. Navigate to the video, select the 3 dots (…<\/strong>), select\u00a0Edit.<\/strong>\"\"<\/li>\n
      4. Make changes.<\/li>\n
      5. Save Draft.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      6. Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
