\"\"UVM adopted Blue by Explorance<\/a> course evaluation software in Fall 2019. Blue is a centralized online evaluation tool with decentralized control and access. It automates invitation and administration of surveys to students, compiles student feedback anonymously and securely, and delivers private, comprehensive reports to faculty members.<\/p>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\tMonitoring Response Rates and Taking Action:<\/span> \t\t\t \t\t\t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\tBlue allows faculty and department chairs to monitor how many student evaluations have been received during the evaluation period. \u00a0These reports can be used to gauge the effectiveness of departmental or faculty requests to students, and permit faculty to prompt their students to complete their evaluations.<\/p>\n

Faculty:<\/strong> Best practice is for faculty to be aware of, and directly remind their students of, when the evaluation for a specific course is available. \u00a0If you are unaware of when your course is being evaluated, contact your DIG Administrator<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You will receive an invitation email the day that one or more of your surveys opens to your students. You will also receive two reminder emails.

We encourage you to use this information to increase response rates. Response rates prove to be higher when instructors allow time for evaluations during a class meeting. (Note that students receive two reminder emails automatically in addition to their initial invitation email.)<\/p>\n
