A URL that has been shortened using this tool is often referred to as a <strong>go link<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For example &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/article\/url-shortener-go-uvm-edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/it\/kb\/article\/url-shortener-go-uvm-edu<\/a> can be shortened to <a href=\"https:\/\/go.uvm.edu\/shorturl-kb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">go.uvm.edu\/shorturl-kb<\/a> which is more human-readable and is easier to share.<\/p>\n<p>Benefits of using <a href=\"https:\/\/go.uvm.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">go.uvm.edu<\/a> to shorten a URL:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Links contain <em>uvm.edu<\/em> (go.uvm.edu\/<em>your-url-here<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Long URLs can be hard to share, shortened URLs promote sharing<\/li>\n<li>Stats are recorded for each go link, like live click data, geographic location of clicks, and which webpage a click originated from<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle  \"  >\r\n    \t\t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle__title\"><h3>Create a Go link<\/h3><\/div>\r\n    \t\t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle__content\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle__contentwrap\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--alert  hts-messages--withtitle hts-messages--withicon \"   >\n    \t\t\t<span class=\"hts-messages__title\">Logging into go.uvm.edu requires Duo Multifactor Authentication<\/span>    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n    \t\t\t\t\tAdd or manage your Duo MFA device at <a href=\"https:\/\/go.uvm.edu\/duo\">https:\/\/go.uvm.edu\/duo<\/a>.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\n    \t\t<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to <a href=\"https:\/\/go.uvm.edu\/admin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/go.uvm.edu\/admin\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>If prompted, enter your UVM NetID and password.
