UVM has several calendars that you can add to your individual UVM calendar. This guide details the different methods alongside links to the commonly requested calendars. Once added, these calendars can be toggled on or off.<\/p>\n

Adding these calendars will not block scheduling of your own calendar, but they provide a convenient way to view important UVM calendar information within your calendaring app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Outlook Calendar<\/strong>: A custom UVM Outlook calendar. Recommended when possible.<\/em>
\nWebCal Subscription<\/strong>: A web-based way to access the Outlook calendar that you can add to Outlook (the native calendar method is better) and also available to external users and other calendar apps.<\/p>\n

Adding a Calendar from the Directory<\/h2>\n \t\t

\r\n \t\t\t\t\t This is the most straightforward to add a UVM campus calendar to Outlook.<\/p>\n

  1. Log in to\u00a0Outlook Online<\/a> and switch to the Calendar view.<\/li>\n
  2. Make sure the calendars pane is open to the left of the event view; if it\u2019s not, toggle it with the \u2261 button.\"Diagram<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Click the Add calendar<\/strong> button above your list of calendars in the calendars pane.\"Diagram<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. Click the Add from directory<\/strong> button, then select your own account from the dropdown.\"Diagram<\/a><\/li>\n
  5. Enter the name of the calendar (e.g. UVM Administrative Closures<\/strong>, UVM Academic Calendar<\/strong>, or UVM Interfaith Calendar<\/strong>), click the listed result, and then click Add<\/strong>.\"Diagram<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. A success message should show at the bottom of the Add calendar<\/strong> pane, which can now be closed. Now that it is added, the shared calendar should now be visible in the People\u2019s calendars<\/strong> group, and its events shown in the events pane.\"Cropped<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. In Outlook Calendar, click Open Calendar<\/strong> and select the Open Shared Calendar <\/strong>dropdown.

    2. Search for and select the UVM Administrative closures <\/strong>OR UVM Academic Calendar <\/strong>calendars, then click OK<\/strong>.

    3. Click the checkbox next to the newly added calendar in the left sidebar to view it.

      1. In Outlook Calendar, select Open Shared Calendar <\/strong>from the ribbon.

      3. You should now see the calendar in your left<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        \n \t\t\t\t\tDue to a necessary configuration of the Resource Calendar, it may appear in the From: field in Outlook. You will be unable to send email as this account, and can safely disregard the address.<\/p>\n

        Adding an Internet Calendar as a subscription<\/h2>\n \t\t

        \r\n \t\t\t\t\tIf you are using Outlook with a UVM netid account, adding the calendar(s) from the directory (described above) is strongly preferred. Using the webcal subscription option may be helpful for folks using Outlook or other calendar apps with a non-UVM email account.\u00a0 \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n \t\t

        1. Log in to Outlook Online<\/a> and switch to the Calendar view.<\/li>\n

          There are two options for adding a subscription based internet calendar to Outlook for Windows.<\/p>\n

          Add from the web:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          1. Click the link for the Internet Calendar you want to subscribe to from the section above.<\/li>\n
          2. You may be prompted to choose a program to open the link. Select Outlook<\/strong>.\"Windows<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Add from within Outlook:<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            1. Copy the address of the link to the Internet calendar you wish to subscribe to (not the .ics download link), using the right-click function of your browser. The links are in the top section of this article.<\/li>\n
            2. In Outlook, click File.<\/strong>\"Outlook<\/li>\n
            3. Click Account Settings.<\/strong>\"Outlook<\/a><\/li>\n
            4. Click the Internet Calendars<\/strong> tab, then click New\u2026<\/em><\/strong>\"Outlook<\/a><\/li>\n
            5. Paste the address of the Internet calendar. \u00a0\"Outlook<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              \n \t\t\t\t\tInternet Calendar subscriptions can be managed in the\u00a0Account Settings<\/em>\u00a0Window. Internet Calendar subscriptions are checked periodically for updates. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

              You cannot add internet calendar subscriptions from within the user interface of Outlook for Mac, due to limitations of the software. Follow the instructions below using Outlook Online to add your Internet Calendar subscription. The subscribed calendar will then appear in Outlook for Mac.<\/p>\n
