You MUST keep an electronic copy of the consent document because:

(1) you might need to make changes to the document (names, addresses, or substantive changes to the content) which will require resubmission to the IRB, and

(2) you will need to resubmit a copy without the IRB approval stamp at time of continuing review.

Note this is not the master from which you make copies for subjects. It is for administrative purposes only and will not have the required IRB date stamp.
