Laurie Brown (she/her) is a staff counselor at CAPS and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She received her undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and earned her Master of Science in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University. Laurie has worked in a diverse range of clinical settings including therapeutic residential schools for adolescents with complex mental health needs and in community mental health with under-served, marginalized populations. She is committed to creating a welcoming and safe place for all students. Laurie is interested in the multiple facets of identity and the creation of a cohesive narrative across the lifespan. Her clinical interests are broad and include adolescent identity, adoption/transracial adoption, student athletes, family systems, developmental trauma, acculturation, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and overall wellness.
