Sylvia works mainly with transdisciplinary research and human behavior in the Amazon in relation to environmental issues, ancestral knowledge and ways of organizing socioeconomic life in family agroecosystems. Currently, she is a researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development and global affiliate of the Gund Institute for Environment at the University of Vermont, USA.
