Gund Postdoctoral Fellow, Vermont EPSCoR

Panagiotis Oikonomou joined Vermont EPSCoR as a Postdoctoral Associate in August 2019. In his current research under the VT EPSCoR Basin Resilience to Extreme Events (BREE) Project, he focuses on computational modeling of extreme events in coupled natural and human systems. Panagiotis research interests include extreme hydrologic events, hydroinformatics (data, applied statistics, models, GIS, and decision support systems), integrated water resource management, and the Water-Energy-Food Nexus. He has also participated in several water-related funded research projects in the United States and the European Union.

Before joining the University of Vermont, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow for two years at Colorado Water Center, Colorado State University.
