Luce began her UVM career in 2002 as a Project Engineer in the Physical Plant Department (PPD) tasked with developing and implementing the first comprehensive Deferred Maintenance program for the campus. In 2009 she took on the additional role of Zone Maintenance Manager for the College of Medicine area. In 2011, she became the Assistant Director for Projects & Engineering within PPD, a role she has held until being appointed Executive Director of Facilities Management in March 2020.
Prior to joining the University, Luce had over 20 years of experience in civil/structural consulting engineering and project management in the private sector. She began her career as a construction field inspector, moving into design on projects throughout New England, specializing in historic renovations and site work, as well as state and local permitting. She received both her Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, and her Masters of Public Administration from UVM. Professional registrations include: Professional Civil Engineer, LEED AP Building Design and Construction, Certified Education Facilities Professional (CEFP).
