Dataset Overview

This is a raster map of coyote (Canis latrans) distribution in the New England region of the northeastern United States. The value of each pixel in the map is an estimate of the species probability of occurrence. Occurrence estimates were calculated from species-specific distribution models fit using expert-opinion data and generalized linear mixed modeling. For details on the collection of expert opinion data, the modeling process, and the development of the distribution maps, please see: Pearman-Gillman, S, J. E. Katz, R. Mickey, J. Murdoch, and T. Donovan. 2020. Predicting wildlife distribution patterns in New England USA with expert elicitation techniques. Global Ecology and Conservation 21:e00853.
