necessary to understand the effects of continued environmental change, including climate change, atmospheric&#13;
deposition of metals, and recovery from acidic precipitation. A monitoring&#13;
program was initiated in 2002 at five protected forest sites in Vermont, three in Mt. Mansfield State Forest and two in the Lye Brook Wilderness Area. Every 5 years at each site, ten soil pits are dug and sampled from subplots in a 50 × 50-m plot.</para>
<studyAreaDescription/></project><dataTable><entityName>Vermont Long-term Soil Monitoring Database</entityName><entityDescription>A database of all data collected as part of the Vermont Long-term Soils Monitoring program, including visit information, vegetation, soil descriptions and soil chemistry. </entityDescription><physical><objectName>VMC.161.3718</objectName><dataFormat><externallyDefinedFormat><formatName>mySQL</formatName></externallyDefinedFormat></dataFormat><distribution><online><url>https://www.uvm.edu/femc/CI4/data/archive/project/long-term-soil-monitoring/dataset/vermont-long-term-soil-monitoring-database</url></online></distribution></physical><coverage scope="document"><temporalCoverage scope="document"><rangeOfDates><beginDate><calendarDate>2002-01-01</calendarDate></beginDate><endDate><calendarDate>2017-09-01</calendarDate></endDate></rangeOfDates></temporalCoverage></coverage><attributeList><attribute><attributeName>No Attributes</attributeName><attributeDefinition>No Definition</attributeDefinition><measurementScale><nominal><nonNumericDomain><textDomain><definition>no data</definition></textDomain></nonNumericDomain></nominal></measurementScale></attribute></attributeList></dataTable></dataset></eml:eml>
