The land has been managed as pasture for many years prior to TNC ownership. This planting effort was a means of restoring the are to the clayplain forest community type. All seedlings were revisited and measured for status (live/dead), vigor, and browse in 2015-2018. In 2018 an additional study on competing vegetation and soil conditions was conducted.
