Agronomy Outreach Specialist

Laura joined the Center in 2018 after returning to her roots in the Upper Valley of VT/NH. Her educational and professional career includes a BA in Environmental Studies from St. Lawrence University, which led to her work in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Costa Rica on diversified fruit and vegetable farms, as a teacher for English language learners, and in outdoor education. She later served as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay where she found her home in agriculture extension, primarily working in soil conservation and beekeeping. Inspired to further her formal education, her research in fertilization strategies for green chile peppers helped her earn a MS in Horticulture from New Mexico State University. In addition to her work at the Center, her time is spent exploring opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and beekeeping.
