Learn to identify, analyze and respond to complex environmental challenges.

The University of Vermont campus, surrounded by the Green Mountains, Lake Champlain, agricultural lands, and vibrant communities, provides an ideal setting for students interested in studying the environment. Environmental sciences classes, from introductory through advanced, emphasize hands-on experiences in these natural laboratories. Collaborations with the U.S. Forest Service, Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Sea Grant, and Lake Champlain Basin Program supplement faculty expertise and experiential learning opportunities available outside the classroom.
