To the UVM Community: As you are undoubtedly aware, Governor Scott’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order is set to expire this Friday, May 15. While we are not certain at this time whether the Governor will further extend the order or some parts of it, what we do know is that any re-opening of the economy will occur in a cautious, measured way that focuses on protecting public health and safety. Resumption of regular in-person operations is likely to be very gradual for most employers, including UVM.

With this in mind, we do not anticipate an immediate return to in-person operations next week, even if there are changes to the Governor’s order this Friday. Any expectations about a return to campus will be communicated in advance. While we are planning for students’ return to campus for the fall semester, the process of bringing employees back to campus will be both thoughtful and gradual.

Please feel free to contact hrsinfo@uvm.edu with any questions or concerns you may have.
