Hit Pause: Lecture Breaks for Student Engagement and Learning

FreeThis short workshop will showcase helpful ideas and activities from Gail Taylor Rice’s Hitting Pause: 65 Lecture Breaks to Refresh and Reinforce Learning. Discussion will focus on practical ideas for fostering student engagement with better pacing and structure in any lecture class. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to sign up for the Hitting Pause book group, scheduled for Fall 2019. If you’d like to join the book group (limited enrollment), then you’ll leave the workshop with a free copy of the book to read it over the summer. We’ll meet for a lunch in the fall to talk about how you have incorporated lecture breaks into your course!
