This is part one of a two-part workshop introducing teaching strategies that may be especially helpful in large enrollment classes.
This first workshop introduces two teaching strategies—Just-In-Time Teaching and peer instruction—in the context of large enrollment classes. It addresses the quote, “As you enter the classroom, ask yourself this question: ‘If there were no students in the classroom, could I do what I am planning to do?’ If you answer yes... don't do it.” (Gen. Ruben Cebero, US Air Force Academy)
The facilitator is Laura Hill Bermingham who teaches large enrollment biology and botany courses and regularly uses peer instruction in her teaching.
