Crafting Multiple Choice and Clicker Questions for Higher-Level Thinking

Tuesday, August 21 2018
@ 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM

Multiple choice and clicker questions are used in a variety of disciplines to assess basic information, but well-crafted questions can do much more than that, pushing students to use high-level thinking skills and shaping their approach to studying.

In this session, Annie Murray-Close (Psychological Science) and Nicole Phelps (History) will discuss strategies for constructing questions and explore some of the challenges associated with multiple choice and clicker questions; their examples will be drawn from the social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities. In addition to this content-focused workshop, participants may want to sign up for other CTL sessions on iClickers and/or Blackboard tests for technical instructions.

Facilitated by
