Practices for Engaging Students: Just-in-Time Teaching and Peer Instruction

Wednesday, September 20 2017
@ 1:15 PM- 2:45 PM
This workshop introduces two teaching strategies—Just-In-Time Teaching and Peer Instruction—in the context of large enrollment classes. It addresses the quote, “As you enter the classroom, ask yourself this question: ‘If there were no students in the classroom, could I do what I am planning to do?’ If you answer yes... don't do it.” (Gen. Ruben Cebero, US Air Force Academy)

The facilitator, Laura Hill, teaches large enrollment biological science and botany courses and keeps students engaged in the classroom with these teaching practices.

If you would like to learn how to use iClickers, referenced in this workshop, attend the next workshop: iClickers in the Classroom(3:00pm - 4:30pm).
