Mixed Media Bootcamp

Monday, May 15 2017
@ 9:00 AM- 3:30 PM
Mixed media can spark creative possibilities for designing engaging student projects. For example, imagine students:
  • Creating timelines that show changes over time
  • Building and curating a digital image exhibit that explains and supports a point of view
  • Analyzing a video by adding comments and annotations

In this all-day bootcamp, you will learn the practical skills of working with multiple forms of media, and then explore how they can be combined. We’ll start with the basics: how to find, edit, and use images and how to capture, edit, annotate, and share video. After that we’ll explore apps like TimelineJS, ThingLink, YouTube Annotations, VideoAnt, Omeka, and more. Along the way we’ll consider how to develop mixed media assignments and strategies for assessing student projects.

This is an all-day, hands-on workshop with lunch and plenty of time for practice, questions, and sharing ideas.
