Important Update!

The University of Vermont will celebrate its 217th Commencement on Sunday, May 20.  While Sunday‚Äôs forecast is calling for rain showers it does not indicate severe weather, therefore the University Commencement Main Ceremony and College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will take place outdoors on the University Green.  Graduates and guests are urged to dress appropriately for the weather. Tickets will not be required for the University Main Ceremony or the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony.

The University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will be held outdoors on the University Green, rain or shine. Graduates and guests are advised to dress appropriately for the weather. Temperatures in May can vary greatly. Clothing that can be layered easily is advisable along with comfortable footwear for walking on grass. Please plan for the possibility of strong sun as well as cool or wet weather. For visitor comfort, indoor viewing on large screen display will be available in Waterman Memorial Lounge.

In the event of severe weather

In the event of severe weather, the University Commencement Main Ceremony and the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will be moved indoors to the Multipurpose Facility in the Athletic Complex. Tickets will be required (graduates do not need a ticket). Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on large screen display and closed-circuit TV in the Davis Center.
