Ceremony Location: Patrick Gymnasium at the Athletic Complex, Address: 97 Spear Street, Burlington, VT 05405
Live Stream and Recordings: All ceremonies will be live streamed and recorded. Recordings of the ceremonies will be posted on the commencement a week after the ceremony.
Health and Safety: It is the expectation that all guests will be fully vaccinated. Additionally, all attendees must wear face coverings at all time at the ceremony. Please visit the health and safety page for more information.
Tickets Required: Only guests who have tickets will be allowed in the ceremony venue. Guests receive tickets from their graduate. Tickets may be printed or presented on a smartphone or tablet during entry. Each ticket has a unique barcode and cannot be duplicated. View more information about tickets. Guests should keep their tickets with them at all times.
Commencement Program: The commencement program will be posted on the Class of 2020 Commencement website homepage.
Doors open 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony times:
- Doors open at 8:00 am for the 9:00 am ceremony (#1) for Graduate College, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Grossman School of Business, College of Education and Social Services, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources graduates.
- Doors open at 12:00 pm for the 1:00 pm ceremony (#2) for College of Arts and Sciences and College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences graduates.
Photographs: GradImages, a professional commencement photography business, will photograph each graduate in their regalia at the ceremonies when they cross the stage. Students are encouraged to pre-register online with GradImages for easy tracking of their Commencement Day proofs and to order prints.
Seating: Seating in the guest seating section is not assigned. Guests should plan to remain at their seats at all times during the ceremony.
Food and Beverage: Food and beverage will not be permitted inside the venue.
Do NOT Bring: Please do not bring bags, backpacks or similar items to the ceremony, especially objects that would obstruct other guests’ view during the ceremony.
Pets: Pets are not allowed at the ceremony site. Pets should be left at home for the commencement ceremonies. The only exception to this would be the allowance of service animals in accordance with the University’s Operating Procedure for Service and Emotional Support Animals.
Accessibility: All ceremonies at the University of Vermont Commencement are physically accessible and include use of CART (Communication Access Real-time Translation).
