Clinical Associate Professor

Dr. Jean Pelski joined the Department of Nursing at the University of Vermont in December 2018 as a clinical associate professor. She has an extensive undergraduate and graduate teaching portfolio and documented experience in mentoring DNP faculty and students for success. She completed the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) mentor/leadership fellowship in April 2019 with the goal to ensure a network of exemplary nurse practitioner faculty leaders. From an evidence-based practice perspective, Dr. Pelski is motivated in supporting students in their DNP NP clinical project journey from conception through implementation, analysis and dissemination. Jean is vested in solidifying academic practice partnerships for continued quality DNP clinical projects with a quality improvement focus.

Dr. Pelski has maintained an active clinical practice as an acute care neonatal nurse practitioner in the newborn intensive care unit at Baystate Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts since 1999 and serves as a clinical instructor for the Department of Pediatrics of Tufts University School of Medicine/Baystate since 2010. In addition, Dr. Pelski is a nurse practitioner faculty liaison to the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program (VCHIP) of the University of Vermont, Larner College of Medicine, which is a population-based child and adolescent health services research and quality improvement program.
