Clinical Assistant Professor

Dr. Jason Garbarino completed his D.N.P. in the Executive Nurse Leader track in 2016 with a focus on increasing utilization of the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) role across the State of Vermont. He serves as a CNL program liaison between UVM and several Vermont health care organizations and develops collaborative partnerships between academic and practice settings.

Dr. Garbarino also maintains a clinical practice at the University of Vermont Medical Center and serves as a resource nurse in thirteen clinical practice areas. He specializes in gerontological nursing and has developed innovative service learning opportunities for undergraduate nursing students with older adults in community settings. Dr. Garbarino enjoys traveling to explore health care systems outside of the United States and has visited Bangladesh, Mexico, Cuba, Haiti, England and the Dominican Republic.
