UVM’s Certificate in Integrative Healthcare prepares students to understand integrative healthcare, which involves balancing traditional methods of medical care with complementary and alternative medicine approaches in response to patient choices and needs in order to improve population health, enhance patient experience, reduce costs, and decrease workforce burnout.

About the Program

The Certificate in Integrative Healthcare addresses the philosophy, practice, and policy underpinnings of integrative healthcare and includes exposure to a variety of integrative modalities. Elective options allow students to gain exposure to areas of particular interest.

    An Integrative Approach to Well-Being

    Diet, exercise and access to a healthy environment are essential to human health and well-being. Students in the Integrative Healthcare Certificate program experience a variety of alternative and complementary health care modalities and may take advantage of diverse elective course options.

Admission Requirements

Any matriculated UVM student in good standing may enroll in the certificate program. Applicants not currently pursuing a degree at UVM may apply through Continuing and Distance Education.

Certificate Requirements

Fifteen credits must include the following:
