Kate Cowles is a Lecturer in the Department of Education specializing in Early Childhood Education (PreK-3).  She has also served as a mentor teacher at UVM's Campus Children's School, overseeing student teachers in PreK-3 and ECSP programs, and as Executive Director of Otter Crek Child Center in Middlebury.  She has presented at the NAEYC Professional Learning Institute, VAEYC Early Childhood Conference and Retreat, and VELS Institute, among others.  Her courses taught at UVM include Inclusive Pedagogy in Early Childhood Education, Preschool Curriculum Development, and Children's Literature & Literacy.
